Award Winning Author, Stacy Nyikos, Celebrates Toby Release with Blog Tour

The Newest Book in Ocean Series Offers Insight Into Sea Turtles

Tulsa, Okla.—May 27, 2014—Award winning author Stacy Nyikos is celebrating the release of her new book, Toby, with a blog tour June 8-14, 2014.  Blog tours allow authors/illustrators, students, educators and book lovers to connect “virtually” through interviews on websites, podcasts, blog sites and on-line radio shows.  To kick off the week, she is doing a sneak peek signing at the Oklahoma Aquarium June 8, from 1 – 3 p.m., during their Oceans Adventure Day.

Toby was inspired by a lot of very wonderful kids saying, ‘write a turtle book!’ And my ongoing obsession with all things aquatic,” Nyikos said.  In her new picture book, Toby, Nyikos weaves a vibrant, educational story about a curious little sea turtle who follows his heartsong from egg to ocean. Toby faces all sorts of hungry obstacles along the way that he turns from danger into adventure, and even a ride out to sea. Playfully illustrated by Shawn Sisneros, Toby includes a facts page at the end that educators and parents can use to introduce children to the life cycle of sea turtles, with additional readings about these fascinating creatures who make their homes in the ocean but their nests on land. For more books about ocean animals, check out Toby’s predecessors - Squirt (a squid), Shelby (a lemon shark), and Dizzy (a pacific white-sided dolphin). There’s fun for everyone in this underwater series!
