Bandit Book Launch with Blog Tour and Signing at A Children's Place Bookstore

Portland, Ore.—March 29, 2016— Award-winning author Deborah Hopkinson is celebrating the release of her new book, A Bandit's Tale, The Muddled Adventures of a Pickpocket, with a book signing at 4pm, Saturday, April 9, 2016, at A Children's Place Bookstore in Portland, OR, along with local author Rosanne Parry. Deborah will also be on a blog tour April 6-16, 2016. Blog tours allow authors/illustrators, students, educators and book lovers to connect "virtually" through interviews on websites, podcasts, blog sites and on-line radio shows.

Published in April 2016 for the 150th Anniversary of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), A BANDIT'S TALE is a Junior Library Guild selection exploring 19th century New York City immigrant life and social reform movements including the effort to improve conditions for work horses. "Although the subject matter is serious, this is also a fast-paced adventure story with humor and short chapters designed to appeal to young readers," said Hopkinson.

DEBORAH HOPKINSON is the award-winning author of many books for children. Her most recent picture book is Beatrix Potter and the Unfortunate Tale of a Borrowed Guinea Pig, published in honor of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Beatrix Potter.
